Folks,

Binary RPM packages of Swarm for Red Hat 6.0 users are available at:

 ftp://ftp.santafe.edu/pub/swarm/redhat/RPMS/i386

Source packages are available at:

 ftp://ftp.santafe.edu/pub/swarm/redhat/SRPMS

For this release, we now have two `base' packages:

* swarm-2.0.1-1.rh6.i386.rpm:

  the `vanilla' Objective C Swarm package, which requires the usual
  blt, tk and tcl, all available with the stock Red Hat 6.0
  distribution

* swarm-hdf5-2.0.1-1.rh6.i386.rpm

  with hdf5 support, which requires hdf5-1.2 or better (RPM-ed by Paul
  Johnson and available at his site¹, or the SFI ftp site)

to *either* of which you can add the Java support package:

* swarm-kaffe-2.0.1-1.rh6.i386.rpm

  which requires kaffe-1.0.4b4 (also available in the Red Hat 6.0
  distribution or at one of the many Red Hat ftp mirrors) and
  the jikes-0.47² compiler from IBM.

There is also a new `swarmdemos' package:

* swarmdemos-2.0.1-1.i386.rpm

which installs a handful of swarm applications, without requiring a
full Swarm installation.
