Hi,
I receive one email each day (on average) which mentions
this silly problem with ghostscript, so I guess that
we really have to find a solution soon...
Does someone know whether there exist a command
which executes an other command for a certain time.
In other words, either the command terminates within
the given time, or it does not and we kill it.
Can someone show me the results of "ps -l" when
ghostscript is busy and when we are in the dead-lock.
Maybe there is a small change in the status which
we might try to exploit. If so, maybe someone could
try to write a "tm_gs" program which
1) launches ghostscript with the required argument.
2) kills it when a dead-lock is being detected.
3) kills it after 10sec if still busy.
Joris
