Hello,
guile 1.8 vanished from the repositories because it’s relies on many other 
packages and compiler versions which have been removed too. So simply added it 
on the source tree won’t fix the problem.
We are currently working on the Guile 1.6 intégration in the source package, 
because it  requests less dependencies and would be enough for Texmacs needs.
