[wdiff-bugs] Latest stable CVS tag

I will be putting some changes in CVS shortly which break the build
(discussing why this is a bad idea can be saved for another thread).
The latest working version of the code has the following tag:

RELEASE_0_5_3

Once I commit my changes, I'll describe some of the problems I'm
having in hopes that someone knows how to fix them.
