Hi,

I would like translate the future hurd.gnu.org site to Bulgarian. People
reading the site in this language won't be much but perhaps there will be
more translations. Is there a GNU policy or already made decision how to do
things like that?

I think the best will be to use XHTML for content and use the "lang"
attribute. Pages are generated for each language and there is one simple
rule: All XHTML elements are copied verbatim except these ones that are
*with* attribute "lang" and the value of the attribute *is not* the language
for which pages are generated. Examples:

<example>
<p><b>The Hurd</b> <span lang="en">is great</span><span lang="bg">е
страхотен</span>!</p>
</example>

<example>
<p lang="en"><b>The Hurd</b> is great!</p>
<p lang="bg"><b>The Hurd</b> е страхотен!</p>
</example>

Generating pages will have other advantages too: The surrounding navigation
will not be in content. The script won't be complex.

Regards
