Well, the intention of the GNU recommendation is not to make things harder
for everyone, but to resolve disputes and to not allow inoffical channels to
have an influence on disputes internal to a translation team.
I am happy with accepting any translation, official or not, as long as no
official translation team claims responsibility. As soon as a translation
team claims responsibility, I would probably just leave everything for that
language to them (assuming they do their job properly).
The fact that you are as a person near identical to the team as a team
leader makes it even easier to have this position :)
