Furthermore, with a --suffix option, we could also allow multiple command line arguments, another usage case that might prove useful: $ basename --suffix=.h foo.h bar.hIt's always fun until somebody puts out an eye by having a file named "--suffix=.h".
$ basename -- --suffix=.h :-)(Oddly enough, my 'basename' (6.6) on AIX 5.1 is broken. I'm busy building Jim's snapshot to see if it's still broken. If so, I'll debug from there.)
