AFAICT this feature would merely let each user, individually, pick
default variations that make sense for them personally. I struggle to
see a politically controversial side to that, but maybe there are
implications I fail to imagine.
I personally don't use variations 🤷 so the main appeal of this feature
would be not having to pick one every time I insert an emoji 😉
