That's true. I got off-track.
To get back on-track, I think the common case is that users barely
understand what ssh really can do, so they have nothing setup to avoid
passwords (they don't even have a public/private key) and/or to avoid
re-entering their password. So the `ssh' method is their best choice until
they change their config,
