We will try to fix the ssh issue first. I checked and your
ssh public keys are stored properly on subversions. Therefore
it should work. If subversions.gnu.org asks you for a
password, it means that something is wrong. If it asks you
for a passphrase this is unrelated but I guess this is not
the case.
I reckon the problem comes from the fact that you're using
ssh protocol 2. Subversion only supports ssh protocol 1. Can
you make sure that you use ssh protocol 1 ? Either by
specifying CVS_RSH=ss1 or by adding Protocol 1 to the
~/.ssh/config file.
If this fails to work, please try to ssh -v
subversions.gnu.org and send the full output to
address@hidden
You maybe had an account on various GNU machines but
apparently not on subversions.gnu.org. All shell accounts
were preserved, new accounts were created with a fake shell
that only allows to use cvs and rsync. If you want a regular
shell account on subversions.gnu.org, please let us know.
I apologize for the delay in the response, I simply
neglected the support requests during a month. Please don't
be too hard on address@hidden, we are all
volunteers doing this on our spare time.

I'm embarassed to again have to ask for help. I
managed to update the Kawa web and ftp sites in June,
but now I can't access either. I don't know if
something changed on your end, on my end, or I just
fusing the wrong password.
First, ssh. I try:
CVS_RSH=ssh cvs -z -dbothner
@subversions.gnu.org:/cvsroot/kawa/ co kawa
and it ask for a password. I try all the passwords I
can think of, as well as the passphrase I use to access
sources.redhat.com. Nothing works. I've used the
"account maintainance" page to upload the key from my
~/.ssh/identity.pub. (There are 3 keys uploaded; my
identity.pub only contains the last one.) On the web
site there is a note that if I have a login account I
can't use the web interface to set the key. I might -
I used to have a login account - but of course I can't
log in to try! The thing is, it used to work in June!
Next kerbros, which I've used to update the ftp site.
I can kinit, and it accepts my password. However. when
I run /usr/kerberos/bin/telnet -l bothner
gnuftp.gnu.org
it says: You have no tickets cached
