Follow-up Comment #1:

Please file a ticket with FSF sysadmin AT gnu.org instead of here.

Most of us would like to move our web pages to git.  However that isn't within
Savannah control.  The www.gnu.org web server is an FSF administered site, we
the Savannah folks do not have access, and only CVS is set up there. 
Therefore we must use only CVS for the web pages.

But note that this only applies to *WEB* pages on www.gnu.org and not to your
project source.  You are free to choose git for your project source.
