Hi,

The documentation on 
https://sites.google.com/site/bibledit/gtk/installation/macintosh/version-4-1-on-mac-os-x-10-6 
said "port install bibledit", but it has now been corrected to add 
"sudo" in front of that, like so: "sudo port install bibledit".

Hopefully your mileage will be better with the correction.
