Remember to cover the basics, that is, what you expected to happen and
what in fact did happen.

Be sure to consult the FAQ section in the manual before submitting
a bug report. If the bug (or problem) is triggered by a specific
(La)TeX file, you should try to produce a minimal sample file
showing the problem and include it in your report.

Your bug report will be posted to the AUCTeX bug reporting list.

Hi,

When using Auctex with reftex, using the C-[ command, I can't find
citations with certain regexps. Specifically, if I want to enter a
citation to a paper by Nei, and so issue C-[ <ret> p nei <ret>, emacs
returns

Wrong type argument: stringp nil

The same response using ball as the regeexp. I have bib entries for
both of these authors. Other search terms succeed as expected. If I
open my .bib and search for nei or ball, they are found as expected.
If I manually enter the bibkeys for Ball or Nei, they work as
expected, with correct formating in the processed document and an
entry in the output bibliography.

I tried google, but didn't find information I could understand on this
problem. I checked with the installed info docs, and also found no
explanation of this behaviour in the Auctex or Reftex manuals.

Thanks for your help,

Tyler
