Take a look at Double.java.
Perhaps something like this?

static

if (Configuration.INIT_LOAD_LIBRARY)
{
System.loadLibrary("javalang");
initIDs();
TYPE = VMClassLoader.getPrimitiveClass("double");
}
else if (Configuration.GCJ)
{
TYPE = boolean.class;

Seems like it would work... and it should compile too.
