The simplest would be to open Clarinet in Bb.denemo and edit it and save
it as flute.denemo, say.

The things needing editing are the Staff Properties (MIDI tab, the
instrument range and the MIDI instrument name

The range is set with Set Staff Range command in the staff props menu.

the valid names for the MIDI Name command are listed here

they are (I guess) the same as the ones in the default sound font we
ship (ie General MIDI standard ?) and so we could write something to
synchronize the setting of these.
