If what you suggest allows to do the equivalent of dired-do-query-replace-regexp with a similar UI, then I guess we can bind that equivalent to 'Q' in Dired and be done.
It wouldn't. The alternative version of dired-find-regexp that I proposed wouldn't use the "traditional" UI either.
If it would, it would need tags-loop-continue. How will we obsolete this command, then?
