IMO if “docwriter” is only used by freetype and for freetype there is no reason to publish it on PyPI, which is more meant for reusable libraries as opposed to applications.
Well, this is open for discussion, because I don't think all of the more than 140,000 packages on pip are reusable.
Also docwriter is a quite generic name for a python package or for a script, it may well clash with other published current or future projects.
This is true, it might clash with the name of a reusable future project. I was toying with the idea of making docwriter more reusable for other projects too, after the GSoC period, of course.
