It is fast, portable, easy to use and install, well documented and actively developed. But I haven't found a free hoster that supports it. It is on the savannah todo list. And here is what they got so far: https://savannah.gnu.org/maintenance/Hg But they want it nevertheless. I read that sourceforge could be tweaked so that you can use it, and while googling I actually found a project that does it: http://gquilt.sourceforge.net/ And here is another one: http://mooedit.sourceforge.net/hg/moo But both are only single developers. I will have to check this again. You can convert mercurial and git back and forth between local repositiories. But to pull or push to a remote git repository you need git. -- Kai Antweiler
