Subject: | [gpsd-users] Garmin Oregon 400 in spanner mode with gpsd 3.5-1 |

Hi,I can't make Garmin Oregn work with gpsd (Fedora 17, same behavior on 32 and/or 64 bit).
I set up GPS to spanner mode, plug it into computer, don't let it switch to USB mass storage. Udev loads garmin_gps module, this creates ttyUSB1 and gpsd starts listening on it. So far so good.
The problem is that only few bytes are received from GPS and only immediately after it's plugged in. After that GPS stops sending data until replugged - again few bytes (in rare examples it's one or more whole packets) and GPS gets dumb. I got list of satellites few times, never locked.
By the way I plugged old good eTrex Legend in NMEA mode and gpsd worked like charm.
I'll try to compile current gpsd tonight and try it. Also, anther culprit might be NetworkManager / modemmanager, but I tried gpsd in init 3 with same results.
Any usable kicks? ThanksMiroslav
