okay, my follow up idea....

since, reasonably speaking, the ideas we are currently thinking about
with regards to GUtopIa, specifically the Chameleon nature of the lower
API, and Form from Function capabilites of the higher interface, will
undoubtedly take us a considerable amount of time to distill and
eventually implement. i was think about going ahead with the earlier
idea of creating a GUI API, albiet a very simplistic one, that
translates into the three major platforms. this could serve as a tool
with which we could play with our ideas. nothing fancy, just an
implementation of the most basic widgets and their most significant
attributes and events.

you see, i worry that without at least some code base to work off of we
will be limiting ourselves from the practical sides of implementation
and have a tendency just to talk and not actually pursue coding. plus,
by doing so we would have a common basis for that coding, rather then
implementing disperate examples that do not directly relate.

does this sound like a fair notion?
