kpathsea problems still

The system-staff has now directed me to a machine where kpathsea should be 
located, but it still won't run.
I know too too little about unix... :-(

HEEEEELP!!!!
I would really like to do some docu to 1.4 but that really requires me to be 
able to build the docu myself. :-(
