I will certainly get the spelling wrong, but dvd stood for:
dos ve danya
Then you'll be suprised now, what you call dvd is really dsw. And has
nothing to do with `rm -r'! People who didn't know what dsw stood for
often called it `dasvedanja' (which means good bye in Russian).
The reason why you used dsw at all was because rm couldn't handle
removing filenames with funky chars, it had zlich todo with removal of
subdirectories.
