Just to let you know. I took the source from debian and run uupdate
on it to grab the 2.4.6 version (small change to watch file is needed).
There are some problems with the patch but the resulting 2.4.6 tree
builds without problems. That maybe a starting point for your work.
If you need one to compile it on powerpc let me know.
