PDF is officially unsupported.  As I said some time ago, the
advent of reliable PS to PDF converters has made it too hard
for me to justify the time it would take to support PDF,
especially given that the more diagrammatic outer reaches
of Lout (diagrams, graphs) were never available in PDF and never
could have been, owing to PDF's lack of programming features.

But I have promised to make sure Lout generates PostScript
that when converted to PDF has hyperlinks and URL links in
it.  The current versions do that.  This seems to me to be
a much better route - if there are problems with it, let
me know.
