Seems reasonable. Is there a canonical list of these properties? The doc says
   name
   displayWindow
   dataWindow
   pixelAspectRatio
   channels
   lineOrder

Is there a full list? Are there example images that have the "standard" 
attributes set?

I'm not sure that this is going to work nicely. I think that KDE will probably 
read in the real file and subsample it to do thumbnails - I'll have to 
confirm for sure that there is no direct thumbnail support, but if we can do 
direct thumbnails, I'm not aware of how.
