Hej,

i finally installed ALSA and also got the latest CVS version of libmustux and
protux to compile with qt3 on my good old box running Debian Woody 3.0.

The problem is that Protux doesn't seem to find ALSA, and in OSS mode it is not
possible to record or play anything (Mixer engine cannot be started):

bash-2.05a$ protux &
bash-2.05a$ WARNING: *** There is no ALSA available. Forcing OSS mode.
WARNING: *** WARNING: Latency time might become greater and routing features
will be disabled !

*** Error in int MustuxAudioDeviceMapper::open_device(int, int, int, int, int)
Cannot open /dev/dsp for PLAY. ( maybe busy ? )

*** Error in int MustuxAudioDeviceMapper::close_device(int)
Cannot close OSS device /dev/dsp

*** Error in int Song::toggle_play()
Mixer engine cannot be started

...

As far as i can tell ALSA should be installed correctly.
/proc/asound/devices gives:
  1:       : sequencer
  0: [0- 0]: ctl
  4: [0- 0]: hardware dependent
  8: [0- 0]: raw midi
 16: [0- 0]: digital audio playback
 24: [0- 0]: digital audio capture
 33:       : timer

and /proc/asound/cards gives:
0 [16             ]: SB16 - Sound Blaster 16
                     Sound Blaster 16 at 0x220, irq 5, dma 1&3

is something wrong with my ALSA setup ?

Martin
