    I believe you need the -r option if you want it to send mail for every
    branch under that directory.

I added it.  Reinhard, please try again?

    If that doesn't solve it I'd suggest you just run it outside of cron
    and see if it prints anything or gives an error.  Let me know.

No error outside of cron, just returns silently (and immediately) with
zero status.
