Hey John!

What will be out soon is a version of Swarm that has a Java GUI.
There is no Java version of Swarm, nor was there ever any intention of
writing such. There was *talk* of rewriting Swarm in Java; but, there
are technical issues that may disallow that.

However, once the version of Swarm with the Java GUI is ready for
prime time, we plan to start work on a multi-language version of
Swarm. What that means (and correct me if I'm wrong, guys) is that
Swarm will still be in Objective C; but, that engine will be able to
parse and run code written in other languages, including Java. But,
this is down the road. The SFI-Hive is not allocating time to that
task until after the Java GUI is finished.

The target is to provide a version of Swarm that does not require X.
It will still require Objective C. And I believe it will require GNU
Objective C. This means that it's unlikely that the version of Swarm
that uses a Java GUI will run on the Macintosh operating system. (If
there's a version of GNU ObjC for Mac, let's hear about it.) Of
course, this doesn't mean you can't run it on your PPC machine.... as
long as you use MkLinux (or some other PPC compatible unix) as your
operating system.
