That is really quite strange, on my linux system, only
1.4 Athlon, 384Mb, it only takes 5-10 minutes to
build, hardly any swapping as far as I know. But
again, system stuff is not really my terrain, try
asking on the yafray forums or even blender.org. More
'real' programmers around there.
