That sounds scary, if bibledit starts to automatically transfers content from one project to another! But...
At the same time, I probably was trying to get git working. Is it possible that configuring git caused something to be copied to the wrong place?
Most likely this was the cause. If both projects point to the same repository, then they'll get the same data after a short while. E.g. if project A points to git://localhost/crossreferences, and project B also to git://localhost/crossreferences, then after the git update is done, usually after one minute, the data of both projects will be the same.

I just wanted you to know that there may be a dangerous bug which on rare occasions would allow one project to overwrite another.

The danger is here that there are options that can be set that cause this. If these settings as described above are not made, then everything should be fine.

In menu Preferences / Features, the git settings can be made inaccessible for the user, and a password can be set on it. If that is done, the user can't touch the git settings, and there won't be any danger that data of two projects gets unified.

Teus.
