I can work on this.
As I understand, the job of the script is:
1. Download
2. Uncompress
3. Change some strings in some files (?)
4. Compress

And the strings to change are:
Mozilla Firefox -> GNU IceCat
Firefox -> IceCat
http://www.mozilla.org/ -> http://gnuzilla.gnu.org/
