Something I notice from your screenshots - you still have the "newbie"
features showing. By the time you are doing anything serious you will
find it better to turn them off. The Help->Turn Excessive.. will reduce
the amount of tooltips popping up and hide the simple-minded palettes
(the ones that allow you to enter/edit notes one at a time by clicking
on buttons). This will free up some space on the screen.

You may want to delay the appearance of tooltips still further by
setting a longer time for them to appear in Edit->Change
Preferences=>Command Behavior
