I test frequently GNUstep (SVN) on XFCE with gsim. And as far I can see
this works perfectly for me. Check in "Window Manager Tweaks" section
"Focus". Disable "Honor standard ICCCM focus hint" if you have enabled
it. This sometimes can cause problem with GNUstep apps. Hope this help.
