You are forgetting that GDB is used not only to debug C++ programs.
I'm not sure delaying GDB releases until C++ support is completely
fixed is not too harsh towards C developers, say, especially since no
one has a clear vision of how this C++ monstrocity can be fixed in
some reasonable way (witness the related discussions on the GDB
lists). Of course, if you know how to do that, I'm sure patches will
be welcome.
