In general, I don't.  However, most GNU packages are written in C, or
C++, and that includes the gettext support that this ought to be
included in.  To use a different language there would risk complications,
and it is better to avoid them by writing that program in C.

The program must ne small enough that rewriting it is not a big hassle.
