[emacs-wiki-discuss] planner and deadlines

I've got planner-deadline.el installed and running, but I don't understand how 
I can get it to work. 

What I'm looking for is the ability to create a task with a deadline [for 
example, 2005-03-02] and for it to be displayed today with the number of days 
left to the completion of the deadline.

Is that how it works, or is meant to work? If so, how do I do it please? If 
not, is what I'm looking for possible atm with the current state of play 
please?
