Well, your problem with the "-o" option isn't covered in the manpage
(of fs-1.0.1) here, so it's really a bug, that needs to be  fixed for
the next release. 

Great to hear, that you have fun with Linux audio ;) But sooner or
later you need to install ALSA to stay happy on the platform...
