Gstreamer gives:

(<unknown>:11418): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_segment_to_stream_time: assertion 
`segment->format == format' failed

no sound (actually some 'tick' sounds), and memory keeps low.

I guess there's a robustness issue with the ffmpeg backend
(in addition, probably, to parsing problems)
