Perhaps in some cases but I would hope mostly not.
Having an impossibly fast mainline means that they are doing
continuous integration and, as we know, they use well for continuous
integration testing. I think the slightly chaotic and out of control
mainline is actually smoothing out what would otherwise be very
painful merges if the mainline commits were less frequent but larger.
