The syntax is a dead-end street. That trade-off of optimizing for
writing string constants at the expense of a non-line-oriented syntax
is never the right decision for an evolving system. I blew that
decision, in some sense, though paradoxically, if I hadn't blown it,
people might have been less willing to try arch in the first place.
