If you'd like to try a really old version of COBOL, you can use a mainframe
emulator:

Check the FAQs page for info on older IBM mainframe operating systems that
are available to hobbyists.

I kinda like JCL, but I work as a mainframe operator.  :-)


P.S.  It's COBOL, or CoBOL, not Cobol.
