Good, we are on the same page.

If there is something I can test let me know.
I gotta figure out what to code, then do it, first.

I'm back to trying to
figure out exactly what sets the NMEA delivery to top of second.
Good plan. And your venus6 looks to be different than my Venus8. Maybe.

Trying to reset to factory default doesn't appear to be working as
documented in their manual.
Actually, the factory default is NOT to output at the opt of the
second. I know one of the Windows options will do it, just not sure
which one, at least for my Venus8.

I just bricked one of my Venus8, so I'll hold on that until I hear back
from tech support. Yes, I was dumb enough to flash the slave firmware
on the master port. Don't do that...

Okay this is progress... I believe that I can show multiple ways to NMEA delivery. There probably isn't a need though. Too many variables anyway.

factory reset

get pps setting after reset

NMEA deliver after reset and getting 3D

NMEA deliver after "enabling" PPS

I would note that I see 2 ACKS for each command sent. The first really isn't the true ACK though. Not sure if this is buggy firmware or me not reading the docs right. My understanding is I should only see one ACK with the expected payload/checksum, not the rather pseudo one at the start of every response.

Anyway as shown sending "3E" enables PPS and the NMEA delivery is now right at the top of second.
