I forget if I've replied, but I tried building hello using QEMU, and
this was the failure:

qemu: uncaught target signal 11 (Segmentation fault) - core dumped
g++: internal compiler error: Segmentation fault (program cc1plus)
Please submit a full bug report,
with preprocessed source if appropriate.
