Hiya,

I'm somewhat hesitant to do a crossposting across list, but it does make
sense this time I suppose. :)

This is the first time I have heard of Movim. It looks very cool! I'm
a big fan of XMPP and am very supportive of the idea of XMPP-based
federation. If it weren't for the fact that I'm trying to target
towards solidarity with certain other projects, that's probably the
route I would have wanted to go for federation and MediaGoblin.

On that note, we're probably targeting more toward pump.io than
statusnet in its implementation of OStatus (or wherever OStatus is
going) since that seems to be the future...

I'll make one more comment: torrent support in MediaGoblin is something
I really want for video, audio, etc. I'd really like for when uploading
a video that there be a torrent option. The motivation is different
than with peer to peer filesharing sites... it's more to provide a route
to reduce hosting costs for sites that are also already hosting their
own media.

Not sure if that's useful, but there's my reply to this. Look forward
to seeing more happen with Movim!
