Hi Trev,
It's your time but first try libao (with it's alsa output driver).
The sdaudio native alsa code is broken and crashs very often.
It crash more often with audio cards without hardware mixing (don't know
why).
The segfaults also occour with ibmtts so it's not espeak related.
I am now using the libao driver more than a month and had no crash with
espeak any more.
