Well in that case you could submit the patches to current speechd git
because new speechd needs also dotconf 1.3.

I am not sure if that will be working as stable as expected.
I use allready a custom generic module for txt2pho->mbrola for german.
But I am not happy with the limitations of the generic module :-(.
