exception for @kbd for @codequotebacktick?

Hello,

There is an exception for @kbd for
@codequotebacktick/codequoteundirected:

 If you want these settings for only part of the document,
 @code{@@codequote... off} will restore the normal behavior, as in
 @code{@@codequoteundirected off}.

 These settings affect @code{@@code}, @code{@@example}, @code{@@samp},
 @code{verb}, and @code{@@verbatim}; they do not affect @code{@@kbd}.
 @xref{Useful Highlighting}.

This seems strange to me, as @kbd is the place where one would want 
` and ' to look like a real backtick or a real undirected single quote,
and not only when cutting and pasting, but also in the output.
Shouldn't that be changed?


It doesn't affect the other formats, as far as I can say since in all 
the other formats, in code-like environments a real backtick and a real
undirected single quote are used.
