Although the dropdown list shows /dev/ttyS0 through /dev/ttyS3, you should
be able to enter any portname. The field allows free entry.

Please try to be more specific.
- what are the errors you are seeing
- does your rig work with rigctl and ttyS5
- what do you see when enabling tools->trace hamlib from the menu
