Follow-up Comment #3, sr #105461 (project administration):
Hi,
We ask that the software we host can run on a completely free OS. So please
make ongoing tests to ensure that your project works with a free software
Java suite :)
It's not about Java specifications; we want the project to run now without
proprietary dependencies.
Check: https://savannah.gnu.org/maintenance/JavaIssues for more information.
On the GNU/non-GNU issue: it's about clarity. We do not accept non-GNU
projects with 'GNU' in their name, so that people do not believe they're
officially part of the GNU project.
This is distinct from assigning copyright to the FSF. A GNU project need not
assign its copyright to the FSF (yet is encouraged to do so).
I think you should contact the GNU ClassPath maintainers (who I believe are
the users of the gnu.* package namespace), or simply address@hidden, to get a
definite advice on this. I personaly am not entitled to make a decision,
though if possible keep me in Cc :)
