Does this mean that you manage to get the gtk2 port installed on the system?

I am failing to do it on OS 10.4.

sudo port install python25
(this is a dependency of gtk2)

Output is:

--->  Building python25 with target all
Error: Target org.macports.build returned: shell command " cd "/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_lang_python25/work/Python-2.5.2" && make all " returned error 2

I've submitted it to http://trac.macports.org/ticket/15216
